About the role
The key objective of the role is to manage the Reintegration Planning activities as they relate to Australia Awards Awardees; coordinate engagement between Australia Awards staff, Awardees and Alumni in relation to Reintegration Plan; facilitate and manage the interaction of Awardees through Africa Connect (project specific social media platform) in close liaison with relevant GRM staff; and contribute to Australia Awards (Africa) communication activities specifically story writing, editing and website enhancements.

Key Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Manage the implementation of Reintegration Planning activities, particular for on-scholarship Awardees, which may include monitoring Work Plan on Return communication with Awardees focussing on the quality of Work Plan on Return, organising and facilitating Reintegration Workshops in Australia
  • Manage the Reintegration resources and processes through the website, focusing on Awardees having access to web based tools and resources that aid the review and refinement of their Work Plan on Return
  • Identify and where appropriate disseminate via Africa Connect information relating to professional networking opportunities for Awardees through conferences, symposiums or state based networking events

The method of Selection
  • Minimum Bachelors (Honours) in communications, journalism, public relations, social sciences, international relations, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience in communications, particularly new social media technology
  • Demonstrated ability to build and nurture strong relationships
  • Outstanding oral and written communications and editing skills, with proven ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Communicates sensitively, effectively and creatively across different constituencies
  • Very strong organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent IT skills, including office suite, website, social media and design/publication software
  • Experience of multi-media design and development

  • Interacts effectively with all levels of the organisation, including senior management and less-experienced staff
