Position title: HVAC Revit drafter with shop detailing

About the Job: This is a great opportunity for an experienced HVAC drafter with extensive experience working for a mechanical contractor in the Australian market. This client is a second tier contractor whose projects range from $500,000 to $10 million and vary from residential, fit outs, commercial projects and hospitals.

The majority of projects are executed in Revit MEP, however this is driven by client demand and occasionally projects are done through AutoCAD, subsequently you will need to have experience in workshop detailing.

The Role of the position

In this role you will be part of a team however you will need to be able working autonomously, report directly into the drafting manager.
As part of your duties/responsibility you will be expected to have the following skills/attributes:
  • Minimum 5 years drafting experience with at least 2 years using Revit MEP, either in a contractor or consulting environment
  • Experience in coordination across all service disciplines
  • Strong communication skills, liaising between all stakeholders
  • Advanced AutoCAD user

The successful candidate will have a proven background of supervisory experience within a manufacturing, minerals processing, or mining environment as well as a sound understanding of site services and production activities. Qualification in Cert IV Frontline Management and S1, S2, S3 or equivalent is desirable.

Requirements for the position;

• A Maintenance Trade Certificate with sound post trade experience in heavy industrial preventative maintenance, breakdowns and fault finding- fabrication experience advantageous

• Computer literacy in Word and Excel

• A current driver's licence

You will have sound leadership experience within a mining or heavy industry environment and will have strong communication and influencing skills; processing/production line specific experience will be highly regarded.  You will also have a working knowledge of project scheduling processes and proficiency navigating Computer Maintenance Management Software such as Pronto.

Key responsibilities include;

• Optimise the mining operation and grade control Limestone to appropriate ROM stockpiles

• Ensuring operations comply with QLD Mining Acts and Regulations

• Supervision of operators and maintenance personnel

• Contribute to the preparation of operating plans and Site Operations Review meetings

• Assist in the preparation of Quarry production and expense budgets and work within these budgets

• Work closely with the mobile maintenance team to ensure that all mobile equipment is safe and efficient to operate.

Ideally you will possess;

 •Knowledge of shotfiring & blasting operations in compliance with the Mines Inspection Act 1901, No.175

•Proven management skills within a mining environment

•Drill & Blast or experience within the manufacture of limestone will be highly regarded

•Good knowledge and understanding of the Queensland Mining Regulations

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build solid relationships within the team

We are currently seeking a Fixed Term Contract Electrical Engineer to be based at our Mineral Sands operations on North Stradbroke Island engaged on a Monday- Friday basis.


Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, you will undertake the design and implementation of electrical engineering activities for capital projects and provide overall support to site operations teams to improve plant reliability. You will ensure the effective coordination of contractors all the while operating in accordance with company safety, quality and environmental systems and procedures.
 
Responsibilities include;

• Ensuring appropriate guidance is sought on complex technical problems and/or policy matters and labour to ensure completion of installation and construction work.

• Experience in Materials handling equipment, checking working drawings, specifications and construction against site conditions and arranging modifications where necessary.

• The commissioning and supervision of installation and construction work, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation

• Completion of project drawings, instructions, specifications, time and cost objectives

• Cost monitoring and documentation ensuring project completion within budget

• Liaising with relevant stakeholders,  contractors and regulatory authorities concerning any required modifications to the plant and similar issues

• Working cross functionally with other operational teams and managers to communicate plant modifications and change initiatives

• Consistently developing and implementing continuous process improvement projects as required

To be considered for this role, you will possess tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering and additional experience within an electrical trade will be highly regarded. With a high level of computer literacy and knowledge of appropriate Australian engineering standards, you will have a working knowledge of process control systems along with experience in HV/LV power reticulation system.

Exposure to EEO (Energy Efficiency Opportunities programme) and an ability to conduct Energy audits are also desirable as will the ability to facilitate Hazop and SIL rating calculations. Regular site visits to our heavy mineral processing plant located in Pinkenba, Brisbane will be required.
