About the Employer
Computershare Technology Services have an opportunity for an experienced Production Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Global Shared Services Team at our Head Office in Abbotsford. Working alongside five other Production DBAs and reporting to the Team Leader, the Production DBA supports completed applications, assuring availability, optimising efficiency and promoting usability.
This is an interesting and varied role where you will be working on a broad range of databases, including some of the largest and fastest, whilst gaining exposure to latest technologies such as SQL 2014.  You will be given a high degree of ownership over your work whilst working as part of a close knit team.

The Key responsibilities include:
  • Monitoring and maintaining optimal server health, allowing maximum throughput and minimal resource contention.
  • Ensure SQL production environment is operating within all OLAs and SLAs
  • Monitoring available disk space and planning for the future
  • Managing security
  • Monitoring all SQL agent jobs
  • Reviewing and organising latest service packs, hot fixes and database upgrades
  • Running scripts in production environments
  • Installing SQL Server in a production environment
  • Develop and test disaster recovery plan
  • Develop and test backup and recovery plan to ensure RTOs and RPOs are met
  • Troubleshoot availability/performance issues and perform remedial action
The Essential skills/experience:
  • Solid experience working as a Production DBA
  • Proficiency with SQLServer 2008R2/SQL 2012 and T-SQL
  • Sound understanding of change management systems (preferably TFS/HP Service Manager)
  • Troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to clearly and concisely articulate requirements
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Proven ability to work well in a team
  • Strong investigative and problem-solving capabilities
The following skills/experience will be highly regarded:
  • Knowledge of High Availability technologies and dispersed data centres

  • Oracle/AIX support experience – the Role is 95% SQLServer and 5% Oracle
Flexibility is required as one in every five weeks you will be part of a 24 hour on-call and Sunday roster where you may be required to provide emergency support remotely or onsite and support afterhours deployments. You will therefore need to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously when required and independently investigate and resolve problems.

This role more importantly is focusing on following implementation configuration requirements and customising products to meet these requirements, as provided by the Global Viewpoint Implementation Consultant.

The Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    Perform Global Viewpoint client implementations in line with the provided specification, if there are issues, gaps or alternative interpretations. Then seek advice from the assigned Global Viewpoint SME
    Co-ordinate with Global Viewpoint Implementation Consultants, CTG Business Analysts and Programmers, and client development and implementation teams as necessary to ensure that the complete and working solution is provided to the client
    Provide technical support to the Application Support and CTG teams for the diagnostics of production incidents, bugs and general ad-hoc support requests
    Stay up to date with new development in the core product, and provide feedback to the Global Viewpoint SMEs as to the suitability of the product to meet the clients' requirements
    Complete timesheets accurately and in a timely fashion within accordance with guidance set for timesheet codes, and maintain assigned work items ensuring sufficient information is recorded for future reference and estimations and progress figures are updated on a regular basis

To be considered for this role, you must have:
    Recent work experience applying Web Technologies (HTML, CCS, XML, Web Services, XSLT, IIS etc…)
    Recent work experience with SQL including SQL Server, PL/SQL, SSIS, SSRS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Grants Management/Acquisition: Support the work of the Donor/Supporters team by leading the identification of grant opportunities.
• Communication: Liaise with WVA to understand Australian Government strategic goals and donor landscape and provide that information to the Donor/Supporters team, Country Office staff and other PTL staff as required.
• Capacity Building: Undertake accurate assessments of grants acquisition and management capacity across the PTL to identify development opportunities.
• Income Planning: Support the Donor/Supporters team in forecasting income from the Australian Government and other donors.
• Team Management: Undertake regular and critical review of Donor/Supporters team practices and processes to identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to gains in efficiency and effectiveness in alignment with global best practice and World Vision guidelines.

*NOTE: Travel estimate approximately 30% of the time.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION INCLUDE:

• Completion of undergraduate studies.
• Extremely high level of written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-managed, with ability to maintain focus and achieve outcomes under pressure.
• Project Management Skills.
• PC competencies including word processing, presentations, spread sheets, and databases and information management.

The Dept. of Neurosurgery is responsible for the provision of services within the specialty to patients within the Austin Hospital and surrounding areas. Patients from Interstate and Overseas are treated for Epilepsy with the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program.
